Eat at Taipei

An eatery by Creative Eateries in JCube. When it first opened together with JCube's opening, the queue was long. Very long. It is only now that I got the chance to eat this. It's a Friday evening. The previous two attempts to eat this was also on a Friday evening. But today, there is no queue. Even after we had seated, and finished eating, throughout the whole session, there was no queue.

We were seated pretty near the entrance. There are also counter seats and the view was the ice skating ring. You can eat while watching people skate.

Our table has the MTR map on it.

Sweet Potato Fries ($3.90) seems like a must-order dish. Almost every able has got a plate of this fries. It's fried sweet potato in strips form and it comes with a powder dip. The dip taste salty. The fries taste very nice with the dip. Really a must-try. This is the only dish i find nice.

Sweet Potato Fries ($3.90)

Danzai Noodle Soup with Minced Pork ($6.90). There's a prawn, half of a half boiled egg, and minced pork with the soup noodles. Taste pretty normal. The prawn is very big.

Vermicelli with Oysters & Pig Intestines ($6.90) didn't really taste nice. Guess the authentic Vermicelli in Taipei taste much nicer.

Eat @ Taipei Spring Roll ($3.90) is a big popiah wrapped with a few vegetables. There's chilli sauce in it.

Eat @ Taipei Spring Roll ($3.90)

Eat @ Taipei Blended Milk ($2.50). Ugh. The milk tea taste very bad. Not recommended at all.

The staff were pretty fast. When customers finished their meal and left for payment, there will be three staff appearing at the table. One clears the bowls and utensils, next one will wipe the table clean, and the last will lay out the utensils. Fast and efficient.

The wet tissues are chargeable at $0.30 each and the meal is chargeable with 7% GST and 10% Service Charge. The entrance and the exit are at two different points. So we have to walk to the other side of the restaurant to make payment. A good way to redirect the flow of customers, not jamming up the entrance.

Phewtick

Recently there were friends sharing their meetup with their friends on facebook. Curious, I went to find out more. It's an app that records meetup with people by scanning the QR code generated.

We are able scan the QR code of that friend every hour. But do remember to refresh as the code has to be the latest. And do turn on the location service as the app will track whether you are near to the person of the code you are scanning. If not, you will get an invalid code error message saying that you are not near to your friend or its not the latest.

Each scan random generate points from 8 points to hundred of thousands of points. Depends on your luck. To share, my lowest was 8 points and highest was 4k plus points.

These points can be cashed out to your paypal account. Minimum cash out is 24000 points. And there is a 15% fee. So base on my current exchange rate, it's about $31.

Phewtick, the "meet-up" diary app, is available on both iOS and Android.

Paradise Dynasty

Lately we have been patronising quite a number of restaurants in the Paradise Group. This time, we had our dinner at Paradise Dynasty. It is a new restaurant located in Lot One Shopping Mall.

We were there about six on a Saturday evening. I was thinking that since it is still early, the place should be quite empty. But when we were ushered to our table, I was quite shocked to see that it was already very crowded. The place was also bigger than expected, since we can't really see in from the main entrance. Previously this place was a Halal foodcourt.

We had drunken chicken as appetiser. It's a cold dish. I'm not really into it, but taste not bad.

Drunken Chicken $7.80

Signature Dynasty Xiao Long Bao. Two of each flavour, total eight xiao long bao. It is recommended to eat in a specific order to ensure the optimum tasting of the four flavours. First to eat the original, second is the Foie Gras, third Cheese and lastly Crab Roe. I quite like the first two. The flavour of the last two was quite strong.

Signature Dynasty Xiao Long Bao $13.80
Pork French Beans $11.80
Shanghai Fried Rice $10.80

Overall the food are nice. The staff are friendly, constantly topping up our tea. Payment is to be made at the cashier on our way out. The place is quite big, and they have big tables for big group gathering.

Amara Sanctuary Resort Sentosa

We spent a three day two night staycation in Amara Sanctuary Resort Sentosa to commemorate an important day. Amara Sanctuary Resort Sentosa has many types of rooms and suites. After we checked in and were brought to the our suite at the Larkhill Terrace Suites.

Larkhill Terrace Suite has 18 suites on each floor. Ours is on the first level. I was very amazed by the suite. It's not the big kind of suite, with many rooms and such, but when you reach the door step, there are two armchairs on either side of the door. Opening the door, you are greeted with a bed room with a King sized bed. There is a TV, a minibar with 2 cans of Pepsi, 2 cans of Tiger beer and 2 bottles of Orange Juice (Complimentary), a coffee/tea area with Twinings tea bags, Nescafe coffee packs and 8 Nespresso and its maker (Complimentary). Amazed that they are all complimentary.

Going straight on, through a wooden door, everything is in white. There's a shower room on the left and a toilet on the right. And continuing on, through a white siding glass panel door, is the outdoor area, but still a private space. There's a sink counter on either side of the wall, and there's a bathtub in between. Going past the bathtub, there's a large daybed, with shades that can be drawn in, for suntanning privately indoors.

And the final last door, sliding the wooden white doors open, you will see the private pool exclusively for the guests of these 36 Larkhill Terrace Suites. The place is amazing!

Our stay includes breakfast at their buffet restaurant, located near the Front Lobby at the Sanctuary Block. There's quite alot to choose from to make our breakfast and very filling one.

The staff there were terrific too. They were very friendly and all smiles. From check-in, to butler, to the one cleaning our room, to the waiters in the restaurant.

I had a great and enjoyable staycation.
