OMG 2014 Onederful Birthday Party - Design Collateral

When I was pregnant, I had joined the Facebook group for MTB whose EDDs are in October 2014. A place where mummies-to-be shared pregnancy woes, worries, then proceeded to sharing about our LOs as they grow. 

The group suggested on having a first birthday celebration together for our LOs. I find it very meaningful. All the cute one year old babies gathering together. 

I took up the design role in the committee for the "October Mummies Group (OMG) 2014 Onederful Birthday Party". 

First, the OMG logo. To create our identity. Heart for the O to signify our love to our LOs. 

Cake design. Lol I even designed the cake, and it's my first time. It looks so amateur but Swee Heng, our sponsor was able to replicate. 

Initially the committee suggested to print rompers or bibs, but the idea was scrapped in the end.

Quite a number of collaterals done. Happy to say, the event was a success. All thanks to the other mummies on the committee, our sponsors and of course all out LOs who enjoyed themselves on that day. 

Design : Logo for The Savvy Parents

Came up with a simple logo for The Savvy Parents. It's a Facebook page by my friend and it sells brand new baby toys and accessories at discounted price.

Design : Logo + Namecard for AT Commodities

Got an assignment from a friend's recommendation. The requirement was to design a logo and a namecard for AT Commodities, a company that does trading from rice, cement, coffee, oil, tyres, stones and more. After a few rounds of revision, the client picked my 2nd logo design.

My initial idea to was use blue and orange. Blue represents the company trade in solid and fundamental items like cement and stones while orange represents trading items like coffee and rice, things that people use and consume in daily lives. But the client prefer not to use orange, hence the purple in the final logo design.

The arrows on the logo icon represent bringing trade commodities to customers from all areas or directions, with the circle being a point where customers are. Futura Bold Condensed is used as the font type as the font family Futura has an appearance of efficiency and forwardness.

Happy with my completed work. Hopefully the client is too. It was nice working with them as the client always provides me with constructive feedback, enabling to project to complete with efficiency.

AT Commodities

Wedding website for Jet & Xinying

Completed a simple wedding website for my gf last night. Am pretty proud of it. Nothing really over the top. Just using the trending styles like full image background image, flat UI and social media, to showcase her pretty wedding photos while achieving the aim to relay information on her wedding dinner.

Most of the photos are taken from unsplash.com, a site with free to use hires images. Will be adding more of her wedding photos when she gets her hands on them. (PS she just finished her photoshoot last Tuesday)

Homepage. Focus is on the slideshow of the three wedding photos that she currently have.

RSVP. I did this form using a Google Form. Here's the tutorial that is pretty useful http://morning.am/tutorials/how-to-style-google-forms/.

Venue. So wanted to do a full screen map. And there we have it.

Feeds. Social media is trending. So why not make use of it to collect all the well wishes and photos taken for this wedding? A page with feeds from Instagram and Twitter with the hashtag #jetxywedding.

Ohh.. I initially wanted to do a wordpress site or make use of the Dropbox hosting. But the problems faced for WP is that I do not have an existing domain or hosting and for Dropbox, I used up my bandwidth while doing my testing on the third browser. AMAZING huh... So I had resorted to a simple static website, on a free host, with all the free tools like the Google form, social media widgets, jQuery for the cool slideshows and my 3 days effort.

Hopefully my gf likes it.
