Choice of words

One day, I was waiting around at the entrance after Josie went into her class. Looking on as she did her routine things from removing her shoes to storing her bag to sitting at her spot. The parents/grandparents in her school will stay on, looking till the teacher closes the door.

Then one of her classmate, whom I know the mummy before this school starts, came. The mummy was telling her child that after going into class, can look for Josie to play, reassuring her child (first time to a school, still clingy at the door).

Then..... some mummies got curious, which child is Josie. We still are in the stage where we are unable to identify all the children. One described her with the two ponytails. Another described her with the "big face".

There goes my heart. Sensitive I know. But if the parents uses this description, what would happen when she is older, going to school with older kids who are taught up this way? Will bullying starts? I do remember I have a classmate who was always called a "big head" in a jeering manner.

I'm worried...

But she's the best as she is. Mammy loves Josie.

Singapore's winter

Rain. It has been raining the whole week. The clouds only took short breaks in between.

It's cooling like natural air conditioning. It feels nice. I like it.

It's like a Singapore style winter. Wet and cold. I miss the winter from our last holiday.

And...
My clothes haven't been out in the sun for a few days.
My plants haven't been watered for a few days.
Just saying...

Honesty

Photo by Danielle MacInnes on Unsplash

Being honest is a virtue. It's one of the values my little girl learns in school. It shows how important it is to be honest.

However, being honest may not work 100% in the adult world. It may cause friction at work, between friends, and forbade new friendship.

Positively, the word is honesty. Negatively, it's just being blunt.

It is indeed a complicated world out there.

Hello. It's been a long time since I posted. This place has been collecting dust and even the blog skin links on photobucket expired. Maybe I will post again, maybe I won't. I haven't have a topic to post about lately, other than just my little girl.

What are your dreams?

Dreams. What are dreams? What were your dreams?

We passed by this set of 3D typo while hunting for Pokémons and it got me thinking.

I cannot remember what were my dreams when I was young. Maybe because I'm a very fickled minded person, my dreams changed to suit the current situation and environment as I grow up.

Back when I was swimming, I did dream of becoming a swimmer. Haha. I was good, but far from excellent. So it got thrown away. Especially after I hit an obstacle.

Then I dreamed of simpler dreams. I hope to settle down and have my own family. And yes I did.

Now in my current state, my dream, is to see my little girl grow up happily and healthily and the family to bask in love for each other.

Simple dreams for a simple minded woman.

Kiasu mammy

跟不完, 追不完

The stress level of this generation parents is high. Everything is so competitive. Even though I didn't do much, teach much, I feel exhausted. Lol. There's so much in my to do list to prepare for her. But I'm just too lazy. Oops.

Hopefully she won't grow up hating me, why I never let her learn this learn that, why I never teach her this and that, why I never bring her here and there...

Kiasu parents. I am too. I feel the need. The urgency. But I dunno where to start.

Let's take many many breaks. Hahaha

My Blog, My Life

I have combined both http://thedaintymummy.blogspot.sg/ and http://thedaintycandy.blogspot.sg/ into this blog. I shall focus my blog on my life, all the big and small things that happened to me, my baby, my Latte boy and my dearest love.

I shall re introduce myself.

I am a SAHM (Stay at home mum). I chose to stay at home to look after my child. My hubby is able to take care of the household with his income as long as we spend wisely. When the time comes for me to head back to work, I will. But for now, I will do my best to take care of our home and our kids.

I blog leisurely. I love to eat. I bake once in a while. I try my best to cook everyday so that my dearest love can come home to homecooked meals. I do some freelance but not always as I prefer to commit my time to my baby. I craft leisurely, be it sewing, crochet, or anything that comes to mind.

Alright. I'll stop here for now. Spent quite a bit of time merging the blogs and cleaning up.

Next, cleaning up my labels (headache!) and a new blog template (soon).

Thanks for spending time to read my ramblings. Haha..

Blogging headache: Decisions

I have decided. I will combine both blogs. The Dainty Candy and The Dainty Mummy. The remaining blog of course will be here, my main blog.

It will take awhile for the posts from The Dainty Mummy to show up here.

Sighs. Why I so itchy butt go create two blogs and now need to combine...... Headache.

After combining, it's time for a new blog skin. It's getting stale here. I'll wait for a day when hubby completed his exams and free to help me look after baby.

Till then... Good night for now.

Blogging headache

For a few blog posts. I have this issue with which blog should I post to and I ended up posting in both of the blogs. Which... I think Google is gonna blacklist me soon for duplicate content.

So should I merge my blogs into one? In a way, it's also easier to manage just one blog. Right?

Wrongly accused. Pissed off.

I was very pissed off this morning. I still am. Hais. And fustrated.

This morning about 11, my lower level neighbour came up knocking hard on my door. This leds to Latte barking. And Josie waking up crying.

Why knock? She was angry that "my clothes were dripping water".

Why am I pissed? My clothes were spun dry by the washing machine and were already in the sun for two hours. So how can they drip water? The dripping water belong to the higher level neighbour. Even my clothes kenna.

And because of this injustice, she caused my daughter to cry with her hard knocking. And I was wrongfully accused. The one thing I hate most is to be accused of something I never do.

She went off giving the doubtful face that it wasn't me. She didn't apologise or anything.

So does that mean that from now on, whenever the higher level neighbour clothes drip water, she will believe that my almost dry clothes are dripping water. Kaos.

Pissed. Extremely pissed.

A coin has two sides

Everyday the same stuff happens.

And when I share my stories, experienced people gave me advices. Advices that I tried and they do not work. After some time, I no longer try and just do things my own way, whichever works.

Then people start to comment on my methods, and gave advices, which were what I had tried before. Even with explanation, they just repeated the same stuff of what works for them and not me.

Soon, I just tune out... Having said that, I'm still bugged by how I was judged. I had really tried best. I betcha even I if I acknowledge that I'm not good enough, I will still be judged.

There are comments on either sides of a coin.

I don't like being a coin. I don't like that I'm bugged that I feel like a coin.

Procaffeinating

Today I learnt a new word. Procaffeinating

Broken Singlish

Recently I feel that my grammer is rather bad. No not grammer, but more of phrasing. I believe is the intense use of messenging. Singlish mixed with short forms, and inappropriate use of grammer. Sometimes I do not understand what I had just sent out. Sighs...

Who are we to judge?

Was doing some thinking while LO naps. I'm supposed to nap too, but my mind is too active. Sighs.

This phrase came to mind. In the current society, really... "Who are we to judge?"

Being judgey simply means being petty or narrow minded. In a scenario, there are many contributing factors. Who are we, whom did not see the whole picture, to judge base on imagination?

I am a judgey person too. Sighs... Something that I have to improve on.

Update 16 March 2015
Just read an article. Totally relates to this topic. Do read if you have the time. It touched my heart. Time to be a kinder person :)

CNY eve eve

It's Chinese New Year eve today. Starting of a stress period. Worried about how LO feeds and sleeps. Praying hard for a smooth period. First day of CNY will be the most tiring and stressful as we had to go quite a fair bit of places. Just hope LO will not be too overstimulated to sleep, especially at night. Stress.

Yesterday spent the whole day cleaning up the house. Yep. A last minute job and hugged buddha's leg. Very tired after that. Cleaning and clearing the whole house in a day is not easy. My fingers were dry and yucky. And I am glad LO helped by napping more for me do get to work.

Weird dreams

These few days I had been having WEIRD dreams. I remember bits and pieces when I wake up, but I try not to keep them in my memory as they are just TOO weird. I wonder if it is because I have not been resting enough? .. though lately dear LO has been giving me more time to rest at night than before.

Update on the eye

Update on my swollen eye. These two days had been this bad. But I believe the sty is healing. Sighs. Sleepy night feeds are far from over. Guess they will keep reappearing until I'm well rested.

I know I look scary.

Swollen eyes part 2

Haiyo. My swollen eyes from last week got better and about to recover two days ago. But today, another bump popped up and my right eye is swelling up again. Haiyo haiyo...

Swollen eyes

Have been busy with the LO. My eyes got the effect from being sleep deprived. Swollen and red. It was the worst yesterday. It feels tiring to even open my eyes. Luckily it is a little better today. Less swollen, less red.

Today and tomorrow we will be holding my girl's full month celebration. So I am glad I can open my eyes. Haha...

My lifesaver for these few days.

Thank you

I have not been sleeping more than 2 hours each time for the past 20 days. The 3 hourly feed has become part of my routine. And I wake up automatically if my little girl has not started making noise.

It's a tough phase but I'll get through it. I'm grateful for the hubby, who has been a great husband and father. When our little girl screams and cry non stop in the middle of the night, and I am too sickly tired to move, the hubby will take charge and settle her. I'm a lucky wife. If not, I would have already fallen sick with this little rest.

Thank you hubby. And I'm sorry for my crankiness.
