Our morning by the beach

Selamat Hari Raya to all my muslim friends. And yippie to everyone cos it's a public holiday!

I love public holidays and weekends. Means. More time spent with the hubby.

This morning when we woke up, the hubby suggested going to the beach. Oh yay!! Definitely a Yes.

So we prepared and everything and then when we were about to head out. It started raining. Then it got very heavy. Sighs. But we went ahead. Checking the weather forecast, it's starting from the west. And sure enough, exiting Clementi, the weather was fine, not like the storm we went past earlier.

And since the storm will continue east, we decided to go ECP instead of Sentosa. More time to stay on the beach. We avoided the newly reopened area and headed to the F area. Many people were already there.

Latte and Josie had fun. So did we. Josie likes and is scared of the sea. But hated the sand. Latte is the opposite. Totally hated the sea. I guess also because the tide is coming, hence the wave was pretty strong.

We didn't stay long before the sky turned dark. And shortly after we left the carpark, the rain came. Lucky us.

The Scary Trio

Today's amazing encounter.

We were on our way down for the usual morning walk. So we were waiting for the lift and standing like 3-4 steps away. Latte was stoning behind me and not doing his usual sniffing around. Then I realise Josie was too near the lift, so i bend forward to take her hand to pull her nearer too me. At the same moment, the lift door open.

Then the person inside the lift screamed. 不要进来! (don't come in)

I looked up and saw an elderly woman pointing her umbrella at us like we are some robbers. 你们不要进来! 我的心在跳! (You all don't come in! My heart is beating!)

Feeling the anger rising up. I told her 我们没有要进去。你下去。(We are not getting in. Go down. ) and she closed the door and went off.

Usually we will take the next lift when we see people inside. I didn't even have time to see if there's anyone inside and she was screaming away. And today Latte was such a good boy, not in a chionging mode when the door open. None of us were moving when the door open. At most is me pulling Josie to my side.

We took the next lift down and upon reaching downstairs, she was complaining about us to someone. I don't know what she told him/her/them, I only heard her say 我的心在跳 (My heart was beating). Sigh. Most probably we were thought of the worst by her listener.

Annoyed, I took the kids away to the other direction opposite of her. Then after one round. She was still seated at our block's bench. Then she shouted in cantonese which I don't understand what she said. We were outside of the block, next to the road, so we were pretty far away from her. Too far for Latte to do anything to her. I just smiled, ignored and continued with what we need to do.

Annoyed ttm!! Kenna complained for waiting for a lift. Arrgh.

Anyway it's not the first time we encountered such exaggerated reactions. Mainly women.

I am glad Latte has no aggression towards umbrellas. I can't imagine what would had happen. And I hope Josie doesn't understand what had happened. Negative teaching.

Sighs. Really. What's so scary about this big nose baby?

Supper for the night

I was craving donuts. Yes yes. Instagram and facebooks should be banned at night. I told the hubby about it.

So he went on the search and came back with this instead.

Four Leaves chocolate cake. Different shape, different texture. But still satisfiable lol. More expensive too. There isn't any donuts for sale nearby.

Accidentally giened Latte. Again. Lol.

Merry Christmas!

Wishing you a Merry Christmas and happy holidays! It's a looooong weekend!

With love, from Dogta Latte.

XOXO, Babyta Josie

Sun, sand, sea ... and rain

Sunday. The weather looked great, hence the hubby changed our plans from indoor to outdoor. Yesterday we were stuck at home due to the rain in the evening as we had plans for some outdoor activities for the evening.

Hubby brought us to the beach. It's Josie's and Latte's first time to the beach. We had been wanting to go there at least 4 months ago, but there always had been circumstances like, plans, rain, too sunny, blah...

It was a pretty rushed trip to and fro. To, cos it was pretty last minute. Fro, cos the sky started to turn dark.

It was real sunny when we reached. Overall, a fun and tiring trip. Josie is scared to stand on the sand, but loves the sea water and water play nearby. Latte loves the sand, but is scared of the sea. Haha. Opposites.

The weird part was, it rained and stopped 4-5 times when we were at home within 2 hours. Heavy rain, then sunny weather. Real weird.

Happy 2nd barkday Latte

My dear naughty yet loveable boy. Happy barkday! Hope you like the cakes mommie baked.

Latte goes grooming

Hubby sent Latte to his grooming before we went on our Saturdate. Then I went with Baby to fetch him when Latte is done while hubby gets our dinner.

Latte was placed at the display area. Baby and I walked up to him, waved and called him, but he had no reaction until much later. Sigh. Poor boy. I think he's over stimulated from too much people watching. He was all excited when I went in and fetch him.

He was dragging us to go home asap.

Back home, he was so so so tired. My poor boy. Does over stimulation occur in dogs just like babies?

Latte's Happy Day

Playful boy was so happy he can go to the park for an unleash run this morning.

Then he was treated to a full groom where he looks very different from his natural messy look.

He looks neater after grooming, but I miss his thick neck "scarf". And after dinner, he got treats too for looking neat. LOL.

For all the hardwork he had put in today, he got a rub rub session with baby meimei.

Interaction with Latte

Latte, male Japanese Spitz, who is a year older (360 days to be exact) than Josie, is our dear family dog. Her older dogbro.

Ever since she was born, we separated them, with no physical interaction except seeing each other from a distance until 6.5 months old. Which is recently...

The reason for separating them is mainly because of his nails. Even though we do cut, his nails somehow are very sharp. Maybe because he's still young and easily excited. He always puts alot of pressure when he claws. My family member always get lines on the arms and legs. On serious occasions, the lines take days to heal. I did not dare to put my newborn to that test.

So...

I would carry Josie and sit near him.. She would touch him, he would come near and smell her. Her sudden actions scare him though, especially when she got excited and kick her feet or waves her hands around.

Today, 2 days shy of 7 months old, I let them interaction. She touch him. He lay down to let her touch, nose her, lick her. I am touched by their actions. They look so loving, so sweet. All along they were very interested in each other. Today I know, they love each other. My heart melts.

This photo is taken a few days later.

Latte's jogging trip

Little sister requested to take Latte out for a jog with her. And she did.

But I went along as I know Latte's pattern and his stamina level.

True enough, he's all tired after a while, panting hard. I do worry about him being too exhausted.

While he rest and she jogs her usual, I spent some time taking photos of/with him. Gotten some nice photos of him.

My wefies with him look horrible. I look horrible. Very tired looking and in a mess. Oops.

And he's too camera shy. Mostly he either look away or just turned his head away. Like this. He's facing the back. If you can spot his tongue. Haha.

Little sister back from her jog.

Latte went grooming

We brought Latte for his first grooming session. It's a Groupon deal bought for basic grooming at a pawlor in Toa Payoh. On our way there, he was all active and as usual, kaypo.

We were there earlier than the appointed timing, but Latte seems reluctant to go in. I had to go in first before he follow suit.

Inside, there were about 5 other dogs. All barking non stop. Excited? The resident dog seem to be barking at me though, since I'm the stranger human.

Latte needs a top up of $15 since he's a bigger breed, and after settling the payment, I handed the leash over to the lady. Latte DID NOT want to move. It was like moving a rock. She was unable to pull him in. Just nice, the hubby came in after parking the car. So he took back the leash and led Latte into the small space behind.

The other dogs just barked even more. And Latte looks so cutely cowardly. I feel bad to leave him alone with the other stranger dogs, but it's time to start to learn to socialise with other pawdies and not just humans.

The grooming was estimated to end in 2 hours but we received the call earlier than that. While we were at the door, we saw a Japanese Spitz. Both hubby and I were thinking, the grooming changed Latte totally??? He looks soooo different, the size and the red eye stain. Haha.. We mistook another Spitz for Latte. Oops.

The lady said that everything went well, as long as owners are not around. AND... I did not know that dogs need that much grooming. The lady was saying, once a month for basic grooming and bi-monthly for a full groom. o m g?

I'm not too sure if Latte is that keen for such regular grooming. I mean, we do shower him ourselves, towel + blow dry him, then cut his nails (and he hated it) and cleaned his ears. His first trip to a pawlor left him, exhausted. He was sleeping all the way home. And he seems all tamed down when we left the place. I wonder what had happened.

Anyway Latte does not look much different from before the groom. Nails shorter, but just as sharp.

High alert mode

My not so little stalker is always on the high alert mode. When he's resting or sleeping, he will open his eyes or even sit up to look at me at any little movement I caused. When I shift in my seat or attempt to take my phone to snap a picture of him, he got all alert.

Maybe that's why the area below his eyes look a little darker recently. Haha. Hmm do does have dark eye bags like human does?

He's our beloved, troublemaker, cute, notti boy. Just hope he grows up to be a less notti boy like now.

Latte vs Postman

Do you remember that during our younger days, we saw cartoons on TV showing postman being chased by dogs whenever they go round houses to deliver mail?

I truly believe all that is accurate and not exaggerated. Haha..

My dear notti boy will ALWAYS bark very loudly whenever a delivery person comes to my place, even before he/she knocks on the door. And when they do, he will bark even louder, to a point that I am unable to hear what the delivery person says (to check against my name or to sign somewhere). I feel so bad for the delivery people that they were barked at. It's pretty rude, I feel, but I have not been able to hush him. Yet.

So far, deliveries from BlackBox.sg (Taqbin), SampleStore (Singpost), Xiaomi (Fedex) and eBay (DHL), were all been barked at. Sighs... Hopefully he learns soon that these delivery people are doing me a favour of sending things to our door step and not causing me any harm. Haha.. But amazingly today, he did not bark at the delivery man from Qoo10. Maybe he was too sleepy to notice.

Gek sim

Gek sim. Hokkien. Means. Sad and disappointed to a point that the heart literally hurts.

This is the bottom of my bed. Initially it was a smaller hole and last night, it had gotten to this, a much bigger tear.

First my glass door, then some cables, then my sofa, now my bed. The thing is, I feel, he knows that it is wrong for him to do all these as he always run to hide whenever we discover what he's up to. But he just want to test us.

We treated him so well, free roam in the house, play with him, give him treats, clear his pee and poo mess (esp when he decided to not settle those acts in the toilet), give him his bath and dry him up no matter how he attempt to bite us and so much more... It just saddens us that he just want to try our patience. Our limit.

Gek sim ah...

Here's the culprit...

Latte's First Outdoor Trip

We brought Latte out on his first outdoor trip. Outdoor trip as in leashing him and let him walk by himself. We started off by carrying him to Sunset Way jogging track. Initially we tried to let him walk there by himself, but he just stick to the ground as if he was superglued to the ground.

Once there, we settled down on some benches and Latte was placed on the ground. He went to hide beneath the benches and cowered there. Sigh. A scaredy cat. Dog.

While the joggers went for their run, my mum and I sat by the bench and Latte stuck below the bench. Latte once in a while moved, but he moved backwards, scared. After a while, I gave up and carried him to sit on the bench with us. It was one of those rare moments that Latte sits down quietly.

It's the journey home that was funny and enjoyable. He managed to walk most of the way home, except when crossing the road where he hesitated and we think the hesitation is too dangerous. It was pretty difficult to coax him walk along, but after a while, we found a trick. The pink bag that is used as his carrier to go out (usually to my parents place), is being used as a bait. Latte followed the pink bag and pounced on it once in a while, walking on his two feet. The sight is hilarious.

Good job Latte.

Do you know dogs fart?

It's silent and it stinks badly.. Latte's fart stinks! Omg... hahaha..

Latte vs Yoghurt

Haha we were eating yoghurt and Latte just hovered around wanting to eat with us too. But too bad. Human food is not for him. Have to look for dog safe yoghurt for him to eat... In future. Haha...

Happy Horse Year

Greetings from our little fox and us. Happy lunar new year.

Chinese New Year Eve

How did the day went?

Breakfast with the hubby and the in-laws at Marsiling hawker centre. Lots of the stalls were not open and alot of seats were available. Usually it's pretty difficult to find seats. And we decided to eat from the vegetarian stall that usually has a long queue and the queue maintain even today.

A wrong choice... As it took us one hour to buy T.T and the mifen was pretty bland.

After we got home, the hubby and I did one more round of vacuuming and mopping the floors. It's really dusting staying near MRT and LRT tracks.

Then it's time for Latte's bath. He didn't run away as much as the other two times. Hopefully he enjoys bathing.

Then we towelled dry him. And blow dry his fur. And combed his fur. It usually takes us 1 to 1.5 hours for the whole session including bathing. At least he looks like he enjoyed this home grooming session today. Today I combed out a bigger ball of fur compared to yesterday. He looks like some malnutrition unloved dog when he's shedding. Hopefully this phase passes by quickly. I prefer him looking like a big ball of fur. Haha

He looks cleaner and neater after the shower.

And he's exhausted.

We had our reunion dinner at my parents' place. It's a huge spread. We were all so full. Too much meat though. But the prawn was HUGE. And no eggs this year T.T

Even Latte also wants an angpow

Back home, prepared myself for tomorrow. Done my pastel coloured nails. Spent almost 2hours on it. Tsk. Slow..
