Farmart - Animal Corner

It's Sunday morning. Josie woke up at 7am. Yawns. So, let's do some activities together!

Farmart! It's nearby and we can see little animals.

The animal corner is not very big. There are turtles, kois, parrots, mice, rabbits, frogs and goats. And we can feed the animals. $5 for a set of feeding ingredients.

Rabbits!

Not alot of people when we just reached.

Here's the set of feeding ingredients for $5.

Josie was reluctant to feed the animals as she was scared. But she got braver as she feeds them, as long as the daddy carries her.

Feeding the goats. There are 3 goats.

Cleaning up after the feeding session.

It was a really hot day. We went off shortly after feeding the animals.

Side note. The animals seem really hungry. I was reluctant to buy the food to feed them due to..... But it's a great learning experience for the children. Dilemma. Sighs.

Latte's Happy Day

Playful boy was so happy he can go to the park for an unleash run this morning.

Then he was treated to a full groom where he looks very different from his natural messy look.

He looks neater after grooming, but I miss his thick neck "scarf". And after dinner, he got treats too for looking neat. LOL.

For all the hardwork he had put in today, he got a rub rub session with baby meimei.

Latte went grooming

We brought Latte for his first grooming session. It's a Groupon deal bought for basic grooming at a pawlor in Toa Payoh. On our way there, he was all active and as usual, kaypo.

We were there earlier than the appointed timing, but Latte seems reluctant to go in. I had to go in first before he follow suit.

Inside, there were about 5 other dogs. All barking non stop. Excited? The resident dog seem to be barking at me though, since I'm the stranger human.

Latte needs a top up of $15 since he's a bigger breed, and after settling the payment, I handed the leash over to the lady. Latte DID NOT want to move. It was like moving a rock. She was unable to pull him in. Just nice, the hubby came in after parking the car. So he took back the leash and led Latte into the small space behind.

The other dogs just barked even more. And Latte looks so cutely cowardly. I feel bad to leave him alone with the other stranger dogs, but it's time to start to learn to socialise with other pawdies and not just humans.

The grooming was estimated to end in 2 hours but we received the call earlier than that. While we were at the door, we saw a Japanese Spitz. Both hubby and I were thinking, the grooming changed Latte totally??? He looks soooo different, the size and the red eye stain. Haha.. We mistook another Spitz for Latte. Oops.

The lady said that everything went well, as long as owners are not around. AND... I did not know that dogs need that much grooming. The lady was saying, once a month for basic grooming and bi-monthly for a full groom. o m g?

I'm not too sure if Latte is that keen for such regular grooming. I mean, we do shower him ourselves, towel + blow dry him, then cut his nails (and he hated it) and cleaned his ears. His first trip to a pawlor left him, exhausted. He was sleeping all the way home. And he seems all tamed down when we left the place. I wonder what had happened.

Anyway Latte does not look much different from before the groom. Nails shorter, but just as sharp.

Latte's First Outdoor Trip

We brought Latte out on his first outdoor trip. Outdoor trip as in leashing him and let him walk by himself. We started off by carrying him to Sunset Way jogging track. Initially we tried to let him walk there by himself, but he just stick to the ground as if he was superglued to the ground.

Once there, we settled down on some benches and Latte was placed on the ground. He went to hide beneath the benches and cowered there. Sigh. A scaredy cat. Dog.

While the joggers went for their run, my mum and I sat by the bench and Latte stuck below the bench. Latte once in a while moved, but he moved backwards, scared. After a while, I gave up and carried him to sit on the bench with us. It was one of those rare moments that Latte sits down quietly.

It's the journey home that was funny and enjoyable. He managed to walk most of the way home, except when crossing the road where he hesitated and we think the hesitation is too dangerous. It was pretty difficult to coax him walk along, but after a while, we found a trick. The pink bag that is used as his carrier to go out (usually to my parents place), is being used as a bait. Latte followed the pink bag and pounced on it once in a while, walking on his two feet. The sight is hilarious.

Good job Latte.

Do you know dogs fart?

It's silent and it stinks badly.. Latte's fart stinks! Omg... hahaha..

Latte vs Yoghurt

Haha we were eating yoghurt and Latte just hovered around wanting to eat with us too. But too bad. Human food is not for him. Have to look for dog safe yoghurt for him to eat... In future. Haha...

Happy Horse Year

Greetings from our little fox and us. Happy lunar new year.

Chinese New Year Eve

How did the day went?

Breakfast with the hubby and the in-laws at Marsiling hawker centre. Lots of the stalls were not open and alot of seats were available. Usually it's pretty difficult to find seats. And we decided to eat from the vegetarian stall that usually has a long queue and the queue maintain even today.

A wrong choice... As it took us one hour to buy T.T and the mifen was pretty bland.

After we got home, the hubby and I did one more round of vacuuming and mopping the floors. It's really dusting staying near MRT and LRT tracks.

Then it's time for Latte's bath. He didn't run away as much as the other two times. Hopefully he enjoys bathing.

Then we towelled dry him. And blow dry his fur. And combed his fur. It usually takes us 1 to 1.5 hours for the whole session including bathing. At least he looks like he enjoyed this home grooming session today. Today I combed out a bigger ball of fur compared to yesterday. He looks like some malnutrition unloved dog when he's shedding. Hopefully this phase passes by quickly. I prefer him looking like a big ball of fur. Haha

He looks cleaner and neater after the shower.

And he's exhausted.

We had our reunion dinner at my parents' place. It's a huge spread. We were all so full. Too much meat though. But the prawn was HUGE. And no eggs this year T.T

Even Latte also wants an angpow

Back home, prepared myself for tomorrow. Done my pastel coloured nails. Spent almost 2hours on it. Tsk. Slow..

How to Teach Your Dog to Lie Down

Now.. to teach Latte how to lie down.. Jiayou!

Preference for metal

The teething notti boy bites almost everything. Fingers, arms, legs, paper boxes, newspaper, pee pad, pillows, legs of my chair, legs of my shelf and more...

His latest favourite is metal stuff. Legs of the table, the metal key hole on my shelves, zips.... Licks them nonstop no matter how we try to stop him.

Latte vs Xiaopooh

Did this comic at the danger of my Pooh bear being snatch away.

Latte's one month stay

Today marks a month since the day Latte came to our home. Ahh how I miss the cute little shy Latte. He's growing up to be a playful little puppy.

Here's Latte when he just came home with us. Sleepy little pup.

Latte's bath

Latte took a shower today. Smells sooooo much nicer. After his vaccination, he can't bathe for 5 days. So to all noobie pet owners like me, remember to bathe him before he goes for his vaccination so that he won't stink so badly.

He looks so much bigger than before. The first time we bathe him, he's a scrawny little thing.

Towelling and blow drying him is a challenge. He keeps struggling away and keeps playing with the air dryer, trying to eat the air blowing at him.

Here's the nice smelling, fluffy little Latte. Hopefully he doesn't mess up his pee and poo so quickly to smell stinky again.

My little fox smells so nice now...

Latte's 2nd vaccination

Brought Latte to The Joyous Vet for his second vaccination. He was scared the moment we went in. Had to open the carrier from the top to get him to the weighing machine. He's 1.6kg already.

Upon entering the consultation room, he also struggled a little to hide in the carrier. And putting him on the cold metal table, he started shivering. Poor boy.

The vaccination went quite smoothly. He did not struggle during the injection. He cried a little though, after the injection was done. Haha delayed reaction.

Besides his vaccination, the vet also prescribed a cleansing solution for his outer ear and the back of the neck, for a suspected case of bacteria infection.

On top of that, three stringes of syrup medication for deworming. We have to do this every month until when he's older.

Ahh.. All the things that has to be done on him. Revolution monthly, Frontline monthly, deworming monthly, one more vaccination and all the other unknowns. Having a dog as a pet is a physical, psychological, and financial commitment. XOXO Latte, our little fox.

Latte the Japanese Spitz

Meet Latte, a male puppy, Japanese Spitz, and our boy.

Latte came to our family on Christmas Eve. We got him from Super Puppies. When we were there, Latte was with his sister. Awhile after we met Latte, his sister was also taken home by another family.

Since then, Latte has been giving us lots of headache, pee and poo all over the house, and of course love and laughter. It is fun to see how he sleep, trips over himself, eagerness to eat, and playing with his toys. Some of his toys were bought, some were diy. He like hard knots since he is still teething. He like our fingers and palms more, but we will try to discourage that as it is painful. We also got him a colourful tent for him, which was intended for him to sleep inside, but he prefer to sleep near us, under our beds. Sometimes nearer to me, sometimes nearer to the hubby.

We hope for Latte to grow up strong and healthy. He still has 2 vaccinations to go.

R.I.P Peter Rabbit

GF's pet rabbit, Peter, passed away last night. His small little body was unable to handle the anesthetic given for the treatment for his teeth problems.

The photos I have were from 2010 when Peter rabbit was still young, who was recently bought home. I still remember how his name came about. Peter rabbit always like to hop to where my GF's butt was. So she called him "屁的" and somehow evolved to Peter.

R.I.P Peter Rabbit...

A photo a day : Red shrimp

Today we added custom soil for the shrimps. $9 for a pack. And a fake $1.50 tree. And three new fishes at $3 each. And 2 $1 shrimps. So many addons. Hmm...

A photo a day : New pets

The hubby got his wish for a few new pets.

A photo a day : Horny cat

The cat that has been howling for the past two nights and this morning, has crossed my path while I was walking home. Not sure which is the horny one though...
