2014 Formula1 Singapore Grand Prix - Mayday 五月天

The hubby surprised me, yet again, with two tickets to the Friday's F1 Singapore Grand Prix. Surprise surprise. But as it was a school day for him, we can only reach the venue a little after 10pm.

Lots of people were already there, and the fan zone was already full from Mayday's fans. We stood quite far away from the stage, but still managed to catch glimpses of the stage, though I am unable to see clearly what or who is on the stage. Lucky for the huge projection screen.

The night was high! And sweating hot! Halfway through my back and legs were already tired from standing. I had loads of fun. Singing along, listening to them live. But poor hubby, who is not a total fan, has to endure the 1 hour 40 minutes standing and sweating along with the rest of us.

They sang a total of 19 songs! So happy!
  1. OAOA
  2. 孙悟空
  3. 三个傻瓜
  4. 赌神
  5. 星空
  6. 我不愿让你一个人
  7. 歪腰
  8. DNA
  9. 知足
  10. 温柔
  11. 入阵曲
  12. 伤心的人别听慢歌
  13. 恋爱ing
  14. 干杯
  15. 诺亚方舟
  16. 轧车
  17. 离开地球表面
  18. 突然好想你
  19. 倔强

Here's the playlist compiled from YouTube. Let's get high!! Rock it~

Congrats to Mr and Mrs Ong

A dear GF had just been promoted from single hood to the wife of a very doting guy. The other GFs and I are very happy for her. A step into eternal happiness.

Her wedding lunch was held in Holiday Inn Singapore Atrium's banquet hall. The couple look lovely and happy together. And I learnt a new term for MIL & FIL.. 新爸爸,新妈妈. Mr Ong is so cute.

The wedding favours. The wedding piggies are so cute. But I only got the groom.. Poor piggie groom. His wife went to a different home. LOL.

A toast to the beautiful couple and to our friendship.

Maternity Photoshoot

We had bought a package for Newborn photoshoot for the LO, but it does not include the bump photos. With so much time on had, online shopping had been one of the favourite past time. And I had bought a groupon deal for a maternity photoshoot. It consists of a 90 minutes photoshoot with 5 edited softcopies for $25 by ChubbyFeet.

Prepared some props for the photoshoot, which we did use, but the photographer's main aim was the bump and my fatigue face. LOL and to make things worse, I did not put on any makeup.

** Will update again when I receive the softcopy, which I should receive in a week's time. I can't wait.

Home photoshoot

Just had a mini photoshoot done at home. It was pretty fun, and I am looking forward to preview the photos taken. Stay tuned =D

2014 Formula1 Singapore Grand Prix

So happy! So surprised. I thought that I would be missing out on their F1 concert today. But the hubby had these passes placed on my table last night. Happy!!

Cavalia

The hubby gave me another surprise yesterday. First surprise was the staycation at Hard Rock Hotel Singapore last month. Now, a trip to watch Cavalia, a circus show featuring lots of handsome horses.

Waiting for the show to start

Our show was supposed to be the last Singapore show, but they had extended their shows till 5th October 2014. And it seems that for our seats' category, it is a little cheaper for the extended shows. Ahh.. Lugi. LOL.

Nevertheless, it was a great show. Exciting, interesting and beautiful. I like the second half more. At the start of the show, they had this "interactive" quiz, which many participated. Interesting.

No photography was allowed during the show. This was taken at the end of the show. A standing ovation for the performers.

The only downside is that we had to climb 50 steps up to our seats, there is only one container for the male toilet (not that it affects me LOL), vs 3 containers for the female toilets, and the food and drinks were pretty expensive. We spent $15 for a bottle of plain water, a bottle of Mug rootbeer and one pack of popcorn.

Conceived by Normand Latourelle, one of the co-founders of famed Cirque du Soleil, Cavalia is a fresh mix of equestrian and performing arts, multimedia and special effects, innovatively integrating acrobatics, dance, aerial stunts and live music.

The show - often labelled as an equestrian ballet  - combines advanced technology and the fundamental relationship that humans have developed with horses throughout time; enabling us to build bridges between cultures, to expand civilization and now to produce the purest form of art, one created through kindness, patience, and love. A show unlike any other, Cavalia celebrates the relationship between humans and horses, virtually reinventing the equestrian arts.

Delightful, thrilling and poignant, Cavalia is a harmonious celebration of beauty and nature encompassing imagery that whisks the spectator’s imagination around the earth over land and sea by displaying a vast array of equestrian and performing arts. Supported by state-of-the-art multimedia, Cavalia is an epic adventure, a fantastic demonstration of horsemanship that transports the audience into virtual environments.

The horses cavort with the many artists in front of a constantly changing digital background projected onto a 60 metre-wide screen. Each image projected on the immense cyclorama is first hand-painted and then finalised by graphic designers. To project these breathtaking backdrops, Cavalia uses 20 projectors as powerful as those illuminating the grandest movie theaters. This method of set design is unique to Cavalia and allows the audience to be immersed into dream-like environments.

Heartburn

I had my first heartburn throughout my pregnancy. And boy am I glad this was the only time. The feeling was TERRIBLE. I kept burping my dinner the whole night and up till when it was bed time, the moment I lie down, I want to vomit. It lasted about an hour before I decided to do something about it. It was too terrible to tolerate.

I remembered that one of the goodies bag I took had some heartburn relieve samples and went to dig for it. It's a liquid sachet form of heartburn relief from Gaviscon. I am glad for this. I felt better sometime after taking it.

So what is heartburn?

Heartburn is a symptom created by acid reflux, which results in the diagnosis of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) if it persists and happens more than twice a week. It is a very common symptom described by an internal burning pain felt around the lower chest area.

Heartburn is felt when stomach acid flows back up into the food pipe - the gullet, down which food moves from the mouth to the stomach.

Breakfast with love

The hubby today made me breakfast. Yummy... Egg in the center bread.
Thank you hubby.

15 Winnie the Pooh Quotes

Came across this page while surfing. 15 quotes from the great philosopher, Winnie the Pooh.

Here are my favourite 3

Piglet: “How do you spell love?”
Pooh: “You don’t spell it, you feel it.”

“I think we dream so we don’t have to be apart so long.
If we’re in each other’s dreams we can be together all the time.”

“A day spent with you is my favorite day. So today is my new favorite day.”

LO at 35 weeks 2 days

LO is 35 weeks 2 days yesterday, and we had an appointment with Dr Khoo to meet our LO. It has been a long 5 weeks from the last appointment. I was banned from fast food, icecream and durians from the last appointment and I had been pretty controlled.

According to Dr Khoo, LO weighs 2.65kg at 35 weeks 2 days, which is a healthy weight. On average, at 35 weeks LO should weigh 2.6kg. I had wanted to find reference online to support this, but it seems that the average weight for 35 weeks is 2.38kg instead. Hmm..

Nevertheless, Dr says LO is growing well and weighs healthily, I shall just listen to him.

My dear little one. In just another 32 days, Daddy and Mummy would be able to see you. We are looking forward. Stay strong and healthy. We love you.

I had also done the Strep B test. Results will be known in 2 days.
Group B streptococcus — also called group B strep — is a common bacterium often carried in the intestines or lower genital tract. Although group B strep is usually harmless in adults, it can cause complications during pregnancy and serious illness in newborns. If you're pregnant, your health care provider will likely recommend a group B strep test during the third trimester.

During a group B strep test, your health care provider will swab your vagina and rectum and send the samples to a lab for testing. In some cases, you might be given instructions on how to collect the samples yourself. Because you can test positive at certain times and negative at other times, you'll need to repeat the group B strep test each time you're pregnant.

If the group B strep test is negative, no action is needed. If the group B strep test is positive, you'll be given antibiotics during labor to prevent group B strep disease in your baby.

Our next appointment is at 37weeks.

Snow Skin Mooncake

It's the Mid Autumn Festival today! Time for lanterns, candles, sparkles, mooncakes and the big, round and bright moon.

Following our traditional baked mooncakes, little sister and I went on to make snow skin mooncakes during the weekends. We decided to make two flavors and we had 51 mooncakes in total at the end of the day. Both of us were spent at the end with serious back ache. Haha..

With the remaining of our colored dough, we combined them and made ONE colorful Doraemon snow skin white lotus mooncake. The effect looks good. I was saying to my sister that we should just make colorful ones next year.

Based on the feedback, I think we were quite successful. Her colleagues love it, and even my father and brother who are usually wet blankets in our baking or creations, said that it's nice. Yippie!

Staycation at Hard Rock Hotel Singapore at RWS - Part 2

During our short staycation at Hard Rock Singapore, we went and did the following things apart from just sleeping and slacking in the hotel. Heehee..

Day 1

Since half the day was already gone from travelling to the destination and checking in then resting in room, we had arranged to catch a movie at VivoCity. Our last movie was 4 months ago, X-men: Days of the Future Past. We do not watch alot of movies together even before we got married. We feel that watching movies minimises our interaction time. So we only go for those blockbuster once in a while (or when there are free or promotional tickets =P).

We caught the evening 7.25pm show for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Got a popcorn set and snacked while watching. Even though we just had dinner, we were able to finish the entire box of popcorn. Sighs.. Junk food. Haha..

The movie was great, with lots of funny bits. We laughed alot. They really are just kids. Young teenagers. Haha...

Day 2

After breakfast at the hotel, we headed to Universal Studios Singapore. Second secret planned for the staycation. It was our second time to the USS. The first trip was 3 years ago. And we skipped those shows and rides that we had no interest in. And we had loads of fun chasing after the characters for photo taking. Maybe, I was the one who had loads of fun.

This time round, we had no repeats for the characters photos and managed to catch Kungfu Panda to take a photo together. The Kungfu Panda, looks pretty.... dusty now. Haha.. Oops...

http://www.rwsentosa.com/language/en-US/Homepage/Attractions/UniversalStudiosSingapore

After the day at USS, we headed back to the hotel for a rest and a dip in the pool before heading to Ding Tai Fung 鼎泰豐 at The Forum, Level 1 to replenish our energy. It was around 6.30pm when we left our room, and I was still sure that even though the place will have a queue, it would not be that bad.

The waiter told us that we have to wait around 15 minutes for our table, which, I find it acceptable. But the wait extended to about 45 minutes. Our poor hungry grumbling tummies...

http://www.rwsentosa.com/language/en-US/Homepage/Restaurants/DinTaiFung

I suggested to watch the Crane Dance after dinner as I had never sat down and watch the performance before. I only saw it opposite the waters from Vivocity, which was quite small. The show was quite sweet in the beginning, with the lights and water display. But I got bored in the middle, with a predictable ending. The show ended with light fireworks. Woohoo~

http://www.rwsentosa.com/language/en-US/Homepage/Attractions/CraneDance

Day 3

After a long night rest on the comfortable King sized bed, we went down for our breakfast. There are lesser people than the day before. We saw a long queue at checkout though. We took our time eating and choosing what to eat. The food are the same as yesterday's. The pastry corner is still my favourite. And the fruits section.

As we were still early for checkout, we spent the rest of the 2 hours in room, watching TV and just enjoying the air condition. Checkout was quick. The hubby and I headed for the Sentosa Express back to Singapore mainland for lunch.

Lunch was at Poulet Vivocity. It took us quite some time to settle on where to lunch. We got a waiter who rolled his eyes when we ordered warm water which we have to pay. So, what's the deal with the rolling eyes. Dude.. when you are in the service line, learn to keep a poker face man. And what's wrong with ordering paid warm water. I do not want any caffeine drinks or any cold drinks, so... I can only take warm water.

Staycation at Hard Rock Hotel Singapore at RWS - Part 1

My secret staycation is finally here. I think I waited about 2 months since the day the hubby asked me to keep the 3 days free. Hint was a rock picture. And I guessed Hard Rock Hotel. Of course, no confirmation was given, so I had to wait patiently.

And I'm not dumb after all. I so smart! Haha...

After checking in, we took this bejeweled lift up to our room. We are staying on the highest level. By the way, the whole place looks dark. From the lobby, to the lifts and to the corridors. Reminded me of Hard Rock Hotel in Macau (though we did not stay there). I guess that's the image they wanna portray.

And here's our room! Looks nice and comfy. Though it's a little weird to have three other guys in the room with us. Love the feeling of the room. By the way, on the left side of the king sized bed, there is a pull out bed for a third person (that is chargeable for the stay).

The divider for the room and toilet is semi opaque. The lights are part of the dressing mirror. Good thing is, it's very stylo. Bad thing about the semi opaque divider is... In the middle of the night, when we go toilet and turn on the wrong light, that's it... Haha..

Love the side sofa area. Good setup for some photos indoors to get silhouette photos.

Personalised greeting. I guess this is very common nowadays. By the way, the TV is powered by Singtel. And it is soooooooooo laggy. Sighs. Flipping channels is a chore.

Minibar. Coffee, tea and water are free. The rest chargeable.

In the toilet. The stylo dressing table. Rock star style mirror and a guitar shaped necessity mini shelving. There is a chair to sit while you blow dry your hair or do your makeup.

Breakfast is complimentary at the Starz Restaurant. Amazed by the amount of people from all over the world. I seldom see queues to get a table for breakfast in a hotel. Lots of families stay in this hotel too.

Full house. The queue to get a table was long.

My favourite corner of the buffet spread. For our two days breakfast, we noticed the food choices, are the same. Some difference in the pastry counter, but the rest is the same.

The swimming pool is shared by the other hotel guests too. When we were queuing to get our towels, there were guests coming from Festive Hotel too. I wonder how many hotels are sharing this pool?

We spent some time soaking in this pool. The long straight pool, without much people.

There is a mini water slide for the kids too.

They have this mini beach at the swimming pool too. Great for young kids to play.

Nutella Oreo Brownies

PS. Sorry for the lousy photos. I made these at night and the lighting was bad.

I was going to a girlfriend's mini housewarming the next day, I had decided to make some desserts since she was cooking. With not alot of ingredients at home, I decided to make Nutella Oreo Brownies.

I had made Nutella Brownies the other time, this time, I added in Oreo cookie.

To be honest, I love it. Nutella Oreo Brownie taste simply delicious. I believe young kids would love this. And maybe with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, it would taste even better. The brownie taste nicer when it's freshly out from the oven. It still taste nice over night, but the freshly baked crunchiness and warmth adds points to the taste.

The oreo cookie that is inside when cut opened.
