Escape Restaurant & Lounge

Hubby brought us out to a buffet dinner last Sunday. Escape Restaurant & Lounge is located in One Farrer Hotel, which is conveniently just beside Farrer Park MRT.

I was quite surprised with the seafood section. There’s crabs, prawns, mussels and clams. And I almost missed out the OYSTERS as it’s a highly popular dish, leaving only a few pieces on its bed of ice. Ahh oysters. I terribly missed those from our Australia trip. These just filled the loneliness.

The mains were not much in my favour though. I like the Indian cuisine section. Lots to choose from. My carbo intake is mainly from there.

The desserts were pretty, special too, though I prefer the chocolate-ish ones. There’s the chocolate fountain for the marshmallow lovers (the kids’ favourite), self scoop icecream on a cone (sadly, there is only ripples and vanilla) and a rack full of popping candles, chocolates, sweets, for the sugar loving people (ah... young children’s favourite too).

Highlight: They served us a one time special. Half a cheese baked lobster for each patron. Oh the cheese. Definitely the highlight of the meal.

We had our fill. Leaving with three bloated tummies full of food. We enjoyed ourselves.

Hubby made his reservation through Eatigo, with a 50% discount. Make your reservation if you are keen to try out a new hotel international buffet.

15th Day of CNY

Today is the last day of the Chinese New Year.

Fistly, I wish to thank everyone who gave a red packet for my little girl for their good luck and well wishes to her. Grow up well and healthy, my beloved darling.

There are 15 days of celebration. 15 days of guiltless eating and snacking, thinking, dieting starts after CNY. That's me. Well, back to dieting tomorrow... because, McDonalds launched some new things yesterday and we tried some of them today!

Thai Milk Tea Hot Fudge Sundae - The outlook is abit not very pretty as the hot fudge kinda melted the ice cream a little. It's flavorful, but a little too strong for me. And it's heaty as I feel the effect in my throat after a few mouthful. Do share one with your love one as finishing it all by yourself is alittle... too much. #onceisenough.

Chocolate Pie - Everyone is craving for it when it was launched overseas. And it's finally here. The anticipation is there, the expectation is there. The chocolate lava inside do flows and a great chocolate treat for chocolate lovers. This too, is heaty. Do drink lots of water after finishing the pie. #onceisenough.

There are some other new products like the Thai Milk Tea ice cream cones (there are 3 variations), the Fish & Fries and the Sweet Chilli Fish Burger. These are for another day's happy eating.

Have you tried any of them?

CNY Puppy Cookies

This year is a Dog year in the Chinese zodiac. Everyone was posting their home baked CNY goodies on social media. The hot favourite was this koko krunch puppy cookies. Since it's still the Chinese New Year and we have some family bonding time, it was our turn to try it out. These cookies are pretty simple to make.

Presenting one by me, one by hubby, and one by Josie. Latte wants to join in too.

Choice of words

One day, I was waiting around at the entrance after Josie went into her class. Looking on as she did her routine things from removing her shoes to storing her bag to sitting at her spot. The parents/grandparents in her school will stay on, looking till the teacher closes the door.

Then one of her classmate, whom I know the mummy before this school starts, came. The mummy was telling her child that after going into class, can look for Josie to play, reassuring her child (first time to a school, still clingy at the door).

Then..... some mummies got curious, which child is Josie. We still are in the stage where we are unable to identify all the children. One described her with the two ponytails. Another described her with the "big face".

There goes my heart. Sensitive I know. But if the parents uses this description, what would happen when she is older, going to school with older kids who are taught up this way? Will bullying starts? I do remember I have a classmate who was always called a "big head" in a jeering manner.

I'm worried...

But she's the best as she is. Mammy loves Josie.

Singapore's winter

Rain. It has been raining the whole week. The clouds only took short breaks in between.

It's cooling like natural air conditioning. It feels nice. I like it.

It's like a Singapore style winter. Wet and cold. I miss the winter from our last holiday.

And...
My clothes haven't been out in the sun for a few days.
My plants haven't been watered for a few days.
Just saying...

Honesty

Being honest is a virtue. It's one of the values my little girl learns in school. It shows how important it is to be honest.

However, being honest may not work 100% in the adult world. It may cause friction at work, between friends, and forbade new friendship.

Positively, the word is honesty. Negatively, it's just being blunt.

It is indeed a complicated world out there.

Mayday 2017 Life Tour

The whole of this weekend was the Mayday's 2017 LIFE Tour concert.

GFs and I tried our best to get their tickets a few months back when they released their Friday and Saturday concerts, and they were all snatched up while we were still queuing to get into the booking system.

They added another session on Sunday and we managed to get ours. Yippee!! Quite a number of my friends were at the Sunday's concert too.

At the end of the concert, they announced onscreen that they are coming back to Singapore on 2 June 2018, at the Singapore Stadium. Woah... Bigger space bigger crowd. So exciting.
